Natural Hair Care Tips

There is a reason why hair is called man’s crowning glory and this cliché applies not just to women but to men as well. Not all people are gifted with healthy hair. Some people have oily, dry or thin hair. Hair can greatly influence how you look so if you haven’t been doing so already, it is time to take care of your locks through these natural hair care tips.

Achieve beautiful hair using homemade recipes

There are different types of hair and each one needs an entirely different treatment. While there are many dry hair remedies on the market, most of them have synthetic and harsh ingredients that can only damage your hair further. To make sure your hair does not get chemically abused, you can try these natural hair care tips that make use of ingredients that are available in your pantry.

Eggs

Let Mother Nature take care of your hair by using this egg moisturizing treatment. Your hair can benefit from the egg’s protein content. More importantly, these natural hair conditioners are so inexpensive that you can do them even once a week. Just add a tablespoon of raw honey to the egg yolk and combine them until creamy. Whip the egg white and then add to the yolk mixture. Apply this mixture to damp hair, making sure that you massage your scalp thoroughly.  Cover with a plastic bag and leave on for at least 30 minutes. Rinse with luke-warm water and shampoo with a mild natural shampoo. Make sure that the water is not too warm when rinsing your hair or the egg will coagulate which makes it hard to remove.

Vinegar

Vinegar may be a kitchen staple but it is also one of the best and most effective hair treatments for oily hair. Use apple cider vinegar or distilled white vinegar as these types are rich in probiotics and protein to keep your hair shiny long after the treatment. The hair products you regularly use leave a build up of chemicals in your hair but you can trust vinegar to restore your hair’s luster. Combine two cups of warm water to a cup of apple cider vinegar, plus one drop of any essential oil and apply the rinse to your hair. You can leave it in for up to 30 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.

Fruits

Fruits like bananas can also add shine to your hair and control flakes caused by dandruff. This fruit’s natural oils, vitamins and potassium content can keep your hair manageable for days and your scalp healthy for a long time. Oil and vitamin-rich avocado can also be an ideal remedy for curly and wavy hair. There was a time when it was used as a pomade to stimulate the growth of the hair. Make your own banana and avocado hair treatment by combining one banana with one small avocado and a tablespoon of honey. Mash well and mix together. You can also use a blender to make it smooth. Apply to your hair and scalp and cover with a plastic bag. Leave on for at least 20 minutes. Then rinse well and shampoo with mild natural shampoo.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is very good for the hair because of its antifungal, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Coconut oil contains lauric acid which can help you get rid of a host of diseases, especially dandruff and help you fight bacteria. The traditional Ayurveda medicine of the Indians makes use of the coconut oil for their rituals. It’s best to use organic, cold pressed coconut oil. Just put a few tablespoons in a cup and place the cup in some warm water to melt and warm up. Apply warm coconut oil to damp hair and cover with a plastic bag. Leave on overnight.
